Patient Handling

People working in healthcare facilities or who provide care to the elderly or frail may be required to assist in the manual handling of a patient.   Health and Safety legislation requires that these staff be trained in the correct procedures for Patient handling.

This course will show participants how to lift and handle patients safely, recognize when a load is too heavy or awkward to lift and understand the limitations of the spine and muscular system.

  • Normal human movement
  • Patient handling techniques
