Safety Statements

Under Health & Safety legislation, employers must prepare a Safety Statement for their business. The main aim of the Safety Statement is to outline the plan for safeguarding the safety and health of their employees while at work and the other people who might be visiting the workplace.

The Safety Statement must be approved by senior management and brought to the attention of all staff and others – such as contract workers, delivery personnel or members of the public.

This course provides owner / managers with an understanding of employer and employee responsibilities under the legislation  and shows you how to prepare your own safety statement.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Available Support
  • The components of a Safety Statement
  • Identifying workplace hazards and risks
  • Carrying out a risk assessment of all hazards identified
  • Controlling those risks with protective and preventative measures
  • Training Preparing the written safety statement

This one day course is delivered through instructor led presentation as well as open and interactive discussions. The participants complete a short 20 question exam at the end of the course.
